Aaron Houghton 23 -
Business Owner
I am an Entrepreneur who
has lead multiple businesses
in the Internet Software
and Technology market. I've
started and grown over 10
companies since my first
at age 16. As early as my
sophomore year of high school,
I began studying and executing
e-Business models. Equal
to my passion for technological
innovation, I'm fascinated
with new and growing businesses.
While at UNC I realized
many of the advantages I
had as a college student
to start and grow entrepreneurial
businesses. Finding a lack
of support for Entrepreneurship
through the university system,
I co-founded and directed
the Carolina Entrepreneurship
Club, an organization supporting
Entrepreneurship for students
campus-wide. The Carolina
Entrepreneurship Club was
the first of three organizations
mentioned by Princeton Review
and Forbes in their recent
selection of UNC Chapel
Hill as number one, in "The
25 Most Entrepreneurial
Campuses" in the nation.
Through the occasional failed
venture, some as recently
as 2003, I've enjoyed learning
first-hand from a number
of my own executive-level
mistakes. My ability to
inspire and innovate both
in the business and Internet
applications worlds, and
my direct experiences with
challenges and success,
provide a strong foundation
for my current ventures,
Broadwick and Preation.
To me Entrepreneurship is
the synthesis of innovation
and vision, when focused,
these unusual skills lead
Entrepreneurs to fill voids
in the market. My entrepreneurial
businesses provide enhanced
opportunities to people
and economy-stimulating
solutions. In addition to
business, I feel strongly
about community service
and relishing life. I am
a Habit for Humanity volunteer;
an Eagle Scout; a Boy Scout
high adventure leader; a
benefactor to multiple military,
police, and health research
non-profits; a member of
the Methodist Church; and
a participant in the Jaycees
and the Chapel Hill Downtown
Commission. I serve on the
Chapel Hill Chamber of Commerce's
Community Relations Committee,
am a NASTAR ski racing bronze-medallist
(2004) and am currently
playing in the Chapel Hill
Competitive Basketball Winter
League. I am always looking
forward to new challenges.
