Tracey D. Walton 25
- Business Owner, Walton
Learning Services
“There is no such
thing as a free lunch;”
the words of my loving parents
that I have heard constantly
reiterated and nurtured
within me throughout my
life. These simple words
are what keep me striving
to be The Ultimate Entrepreneur.
I have seen my parents struggle
through prejudice and hard
times and continue to work
hard so that they one day
will not have to. To be
business owners rather than
employees is the culmination
of a dream that my father
clings to so that the Walton
name will prosper. I grew
up in Jacksonville, NC,
better known as the home
of Camp Lejeune Marine Corps
Base. Our family moved to
Raleigh, NC in 1995. I finished
my high school years at
Leesville Road High School
and then attended NC State
University, where I studied
Business Management. I have
had a number of jobs, which
have all, fortunately, guided
me in the right direction.
From working at NC State
Women’s Center to
managing a catering company
and teaching Spanish to
children and adults in my
spare time, I have come
to know the true meaning
of hard work. Within the
past two years, I have built
the foundation for my own
business, Walton Learning
Services. Through my business,
I am able to teach people
as young as two years old
Spanish speaking skills.
With my God-given creative
talents and natural ability
to organize, I know that
I will continue to progress.
I am blessed continuously
with opportunities and I
will give my best effort
to each of them. I know
that through the bumps,
bruises, and obstacles that
I overcome. I will continue
to grow stronger and wiser
in the business world and
be The Ultimate Entrepreneur.
